Olgen Williams has been Deputy Mayor of Neighborhoods since 2007. Prior to his work with the City of Indianapolis, he was executive director of Christamore House for nearly 12 years, as well as president of Haughville Community Council, a nationally-acclaimed community activist, and author of Healing the Heart-Healing the Hood.

Active in the community, Mr. Williams has been a member of the Indiana Youth Institute board. He is one of the founders and an active member of the Westside Community Ministries, Inc., a faith-based program that inspires drug dealers and users to become productive citizens. He has worked with the IUPUI Community Outreach Partnership Center and is a consultant to several national organizations.

Mr. Williams has received several awards for his work including the 2000 Indiana Jefferson Award; National Weed & Seed Community Leader Award; 2002 Center for Leadership Development Neighborhood & Community Service Award; and the Distinguished Hoosier Award from Governor Frank O'Bannon.

Mr. Williams has a B.A. in Religious Studies and a M.A. in Urban Ministry with a focus on social action in the urban community from Martin University and has earned a Doctorate of Divinity from Muskegon Bible Institute.
